Recap: Kahuku vs. Aiea, Pearl City vs. Kalaheo, and more

Kahuku 51, Aiea 7 The Red Raiders scored on their first six drives en route to an easy win over Na Alii. Kahuku dominated the first half on offense. Running back Enoch Nawahine rushed for 159 yards in just over one quarter of play, and quarterback Thorton Alapa was able to generate multiple big plays, including a 65-yard bomb to Kaonohi Kaniho, and a 40-yard touchdown run off a broken-play scramble. Alapa took over for star passer Sol-Jay Maiava, who departed after leading two scoring drives to open the game. Aiea was able to move the ball in spurts against the powerful Kahuku defense, but only once in the first half were Na Alii able to advance the ball past midfield. — Jeremy Nitta, Star-Advertiser
