Nebraska recruiting: Huskers among favorites for tackle Enokk Vimahi
Nebraska recruiting in Hawaii is picking up. That includes making a talented offensive tackle’s top teams list and the Huskers are in good company.
The Nebraska recruiting efforts across the country are picking up, despite the fact that the school is in a dead period. The Huskers have made the cut for one of the best players in the state of Hawaii and they are in some impressive company.
Enokk Vimahi announced the teams he was still going to be looking at earlier this week and the Huskers ended up being the only team from the Big Ten that made the cut.
In addition to the Nebraska football team, Vimahi named USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Washington, and Virginia. The 4-star offensive tackle is going to be quite the get if the Huskers can pull it off.
247Sports composite ratings have Vimahi as the second best player in the state of Hawaii for the 2019 class. He’s also the 12th ranked tackle in the entire class.
At the moment, it appears as though landing the tackle is still going to be a tall order for Scott Frost and company. The recruiting experts believe the tackle is most likely to head to either Notre Dame or Utah.
Interestingly, Vimahi made it clear that this list isn’t locked down. He said in his announcement tweet that the schools are subject to change.
It is interesting that Utah was left out considering how much they were considered a favorite for the offensive tackle‘s services. Now it’s time to see whether or not the Nebraska recruiting efforts in Hawaii and on the offensive line are going to pay off in the long run. Vimahi hasn’t said when he is going to take the next step and the Nebraska football team will just have to wait and see if they make the next cut.
