Unconventional NLI signing day @ Kahuku

It's a little late but . . . It was a different type of National Letter of Intent [NLI] signing day today @ Kahuku. First of all, there were only 3 student-athletes ready to sign on what has become the traditional NLI signing day. And the 3 young men who were ready to sign had very different journeys to this point in their academic & athletic life. The new early signing period in December also added to the unconventional feel to the morning. There were others who chose not to participate in the event while a few others are taking there time to weigh out all there options before making this life altering decision. Let me take some time here to share what I know about some of our football players and where there at in the process.
For Ethan it was just a matter of dotting the i's and crossing the t's in his commitment to his dream school - Brigham Young University. On the other hand Chaz just wanted to go somewhere he felt @ home and Whitworth University fits that bill. And lastly, Enokk was one of the final top prospects in the nation to make a decision and for all intensive purposes it was worth the wait as he chose THE Ohio State University who made a last minute push after seeing him perform @ the All-American Bowl.
Please see below for where some of our other Red Raider senior football players are going to further their academic and athletic career.
To Ethan's right, in the image above, is Kainoa Crismon who is still mulling over some offers for some DII and DIII schools. Behind Ethan is Bryce Beatty who signed with Adams State in Colorado. I believe that all the rest are underclassmen.
Kainoa has 3 offers he's sorting through from Pacific Lutheran University near Tacoma Washington as well Pacific University and George Fox University both in Oregon.
Our 3 signees paying their respects to Uncle Tommy Heffernan
KJ has had a rough senior year suffering a season ending knee injury towards the end of football season. Unfortunately because of the timing of the injury he lost the whole basketball season too. However, he has some options for him with Pacific Lutheran University and Hastings College.

Thorton Alapa was busy making a major contribution on the varsity boys basketball team during the winter. As far as football goes he'll probably go the JUCO route via Victor Valley College in California while ultimately wanting to be an electrician.
Last I checked Tuia had 3 offers. They are from Utah State, Idaho, and the University of Hawaii. He unfortunately had some nagging injuries during the 2nd half of the season which prevented him from further showcasing his skills. Other than that I do not know what his status is at this point.
Miki gave a verbal commitment to the University of Washington before last season. He made good on that by signing his letter of intent in December and was enrolled @ UW in January.
Tausili Fiatoa signed with Navy in December.
Nalu Emerson with Jamerus
Nalu is definitely taking his time to examine all his options as he should. Right now his options include the hometown team UH as well as Navy and UNLV with the University of Akron the latest to make an offer. Another late push came from Brigham Young University with Nalu taking an official visit a couple of weeks ago. No word yet if BYU made an official offer though.
