Red Raider Ladies lead out @ our Spring Letter of Intent signing event
Janae Niutupuivaha, Jeida Toilolo, and Aja Tapusoa
Our Red Raider Ladies were the center of attention this morning @ our spring letter of intent signing event. 9 of the 11 chairs were reserved for our lady athletes with 4 of them signing to play volleyball @ their respective institutions. Janae Niutupuivaha signed with Taft College and Jeida Toilolo signed with Olympic College while Aja Tapusoa and Penina Mata'u will be attending Arizona Western College.
The ladies also had representation in softball, soccer, and rugby. Pierce College is lucky to have Keana Hillen playing softball for them. Jaedyn Sumait will be staying home and playing soccer @ Chaminade University. Taina Scott and Kawai Akina will be taking their rugby skills to Lindenwood University and Central Washington, respectively.
Taina and her parents, the Tukuafus, whom have been one of the primary driving forces behind the rise of Kahuku Rugby.
Some of the football boys out to support Nalu and all the other student athletes.
And yes there were a couple of young men who joined the ladies. KJ Macatiag actually signed with my daughters alma mater, Pacific Lutheran University near Tacoma Washington. Nalu Emerson took the unconventional route for a star football player with multiple options by not committing or signing during the traditional early February signing period. As related in the video below - he just needed to study it out. And now he has confidently signed with the University of Hawaii.

Although we're highlighting these young people for their athletic achievement we can not forget that it is coupled with an academic component. And rightfully they are labeled student-athlete and we must always emphasize what comes first. Take care of your studies and they will take care of you.
And when it's all said and done . . . it's all about family and all that we do for each other! Congrats to our student athletes and their wonderful families!
