Bradlee Anae Starts Twitter Banter Between Utes, Cougars
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah and BYU are set to square off in three months, but the trash talk has already begun, which started with Utes defensive end Bradlee Anae.
The Utes and Cougars will face each other at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Thursday, August 29.
It originally started with FOX sports college football reporter Bruce Feldman tweeting about a conversation with Utah head football coach Kyle Whittingham.
Utah fan “San Diego Ute” retweeted with a comment, while tagging Anae.
BYU defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga chimed in to Anae’s tweet. Tonga will enter his junior season in 2019.
Returning quarterback Zach Wilson for BYU has other plans for Anae and the Utes. Wilson will enter his sophomore season as the starting quarterback for the Cougars.
Senior Utah safety Julian Blackmon was keeping the peace between the two teams with his responses to Anae and Wilson. Blackmon will play his first season as a safety for the Utes after playing the last three as a cornerback.
The Utes have won eight straight games against the Cougars and nine of the last 10 games.
