The votes for the 45th annual SURFER Poll have been cast and the readers have spoken: Everybody loves John John Florence.

As reported by TRANSWORLD Business, the 23-year-old Hawaiian wunderkind was the runaway winner at surfing’s biggest night on Sunday, taking the No. 1 spot in the Men’s Reader Poll and sweeping through the Video Awards by winning Best Performance, Best Maneuver and Movie of the Year for his groundbreaking film View From a Blue Moon.

“When I first started riding for Hurley, they asked me what I really wanted to do. I said I wanted to do the (World) Tour and I wanted to make a movie,” said Florence after receiving the award. “Those guys kind of gave me the freedom to do this and travel the last couple of years. I couldn’t have done it without all my friends, my family, my mom, my brothers, they supported me through the whole thing.”
