Off the mainland in Kahuku, Hawaii is one of the country's top offensive lineman — Enokk Vimahi, a four-star who stands at 6-foot-4, 290 pounds. He holds more than a dozen Power 5 offers, most notably from Georgia Tech, Florida, Oregon, Tennessee, UCLA, USC and Washington. Georgia Tech offered on Feb. 7, but Jackets assistant Buzz Preston has been recruiting Vimahi for some time. "I've had a relationship with (Preston) since I was a freshman," Vimahi said in an exchange on Twitter direct message. "He recruited my brother and saw me and was interested from that point on. …When he told me I had an offer I was very excited." Vimahi's older brother, Aliki, is a class of '17 three-star defensive end who signed with Utah. With Vimahi's recruitment still ongoing — he picked up an offer from Notre Dame over the weekend — he claims to not have a favorite as of yet, or a top five. But that soon could change. "I plan on cutting my list down in the summer sometime," he said. As for Georgia Tech, they could have a shot at landing him. "I treat all my offers the same in value," Vimahi said. "So Georgia Tech is definitely in the mix." Despite Georgia Tech being a 10-hour flight from Kahuku, a visit to The Flats is still a possibility for Vimahi. Aliki visited during his recruitment and put in a good word for the program when talking with Enokk. "He told me about the campus and I looked up the business aspects and I'm really interested in the business school," he said. "I would love to visit Georgia Tech." As far as official visits, he's in the process of deciding. "I'm definitely considering Georgia Tech as an option," he said of officially visiting. All signs point to Vimahi forgoing the early signing period in December and waiting until the traditional signing day. "I would like to announce in February next year with all my classmates that I grew up with," Vimahi said.
