Oklahoma’s Alo named All-American

Oklahoma softball freshman Jocelyn Alo was named a first-team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Wednesday.

Alo, a Campbell High School graduate, was selected to the team as a utility player. Alo became the eighth freshman in Sooner history to be named an All-American as her team prepares for the Women’s College World Series.

The Hauula native also was named the NFCA Freshman of the Year on Tuesday. Alo led the Big 12 in home runs (nine), walks (17), runs scored (18), RBIs (25), total bases (46) and slugging percentage (.979) while finishing second in on-base percentage (.554). She leads the nation with 28 homers this season, two off the NCAA freshman record.
