Less than two weeks after making his first visit to the Washington campus, Miki Ah You is ready to make it his next home.

The three-star linebacker from Kahuku, Hawaii, committed to the Huskies on Tuesday, about a week and a half after taking an important trip to Seattle that ultimately made the decision an easy one.

"Just the way I felt there, everything was amazing," Ah You told 247Sports. "The coaches are great and they're surrounding the program with great things. It was a combination of the coaches making me feel comfortable and knowing they are looking out for their players. They just have the best to offer all around.

"The coaches build up the players to not only succeed on the field and in the classroom, but also as great, young men. It's something I am used to with my parents and I couldn't find a better place to continue my education and football career."

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound prospect held 13 other offers, including Arizona State, Nebraska, Ole Miss and Oregon. The Huskies added their second commit from the state of Hawaii along with four-star lineman Sama Paama.

"The coaches live what they teach and it’s just a blessing to have the opportunity for them to mentor me throughout my process," Ah You said. "I know I've got a great chance to be successful with the way I am going to be taught during college. Something I noticed there is that everything leads up to coach Chris Petersen, not only as a coach but as a man. They have built something real special up there."

Ah You has the positional versatility to fit at various spots in a defense but said Washington views him as a Will linebacker where he can drop back in coverage, chase down ball carriers in the flats and support against the run in the box.

"I feel like I could play that Will position because I am an aggressive person," Ah You said. "I am always looking to make plays in the box and can get from line to line.

"The way coach Bob Gregory is sending guys to the NFL and making linebackers great on the field is just next level. He prepares you well for what's next and I'm excited to play for him."

Although there is a long way to go until signing day, Ah You said he is shutting down his recruitment and is 100 percent locked in with the Huskies.

"I am more than happy with Washington and it’s going to be my school -- nothing will change that," Ah You said. "I am looking into possibly graduating early so I can get on campus for spring ball. It's something my family and I are going to continue to look into."

Ah You is the nation's No. 71-rated outside linebacker and No. 8 overall prospect in Hawaii for the 2019 class, per the 247Sports Composite.
