Rebels Make Latest Round Of Cuts For Four-Star Offensive Tackle

One of the nation's top offensive linemen has included Ole Miss in his top eight released on Wednesday.
Four-star prospect Enokk Vimahi listed Ole Miss along with Southern Cal, UCLA, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Washington and Virginia in is his top eight. Vimahi specified his top eight was in no particular order.
"Thank you to all the coaches who believed in me and supported me through this process," Vimahi wrote on Twitter. "(The) list is subject to change, but this is my top eight."
The 6-4, 286-pounder is rated as the nation's No. 13 offensive tackle prospect by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite index. A native of Kahuku, Hawaii, Vimahi is the state of Hawaii's No. 2 recruit regardless of position in the 2019 class.
Interestingly, his 247Sports Crystal Ball read 100 percent to Utah prior to the releasing odf his top eight in which the Utes were excluded.
Vimahi's inclusion of Ole Miss in his top eight is interesting, as he was in Oxford on the Ole Miss campus just a few days ago. He took an unofficial visit to Ole Miss on June 22.
Vimahi just finished competing at The Opening in Texas where he was listed as a top performer at the event by 247Sports.
"Vimahi played both guard and tackle on Monday and looked pretty good at both spots. He's a natural tackle, with length and athleticism to play out there, but he has the strength to play inside and handle defensive linemen. His versatility has been a strength for him this week," observed 247Sports' Brandon Huffman.
In addition to his top eight, Vimahi holds offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, BYU, Cal, Florida, Fresno State, Georgia Tech, Hawaii, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, Syracuse, Tennessee, Utah, Utah State and Dartmouth.
Ole Miss already owns seven offensive line commitments in its 22-man 2019 class, but one would figure the Rebels would find room for an offensive lineman the caliber of Vimahi. Ole Miss has strong Polynesian ties on its coaching staff, and of course, Jordan Ta'amu, the rebels' starting quarterback, is a native of Hawaii.
Though not listed in his top eight, Texas could also be a school to keep an eye on his Vimahi's recruitment. As first reported by 247Sports' EJ Holland, Vimahi's aunt was an All-America shot-putter for the Longhorns.
The Spirit Says...
It is hard to figure Ole Miss taking as many as eight offensive lineman in a single class, but it could happen. As mentioned above, a player the caliber of Vamahi is a take no matter what. With that said, according to sources, the likelihood is that Vimahi ultimately decides to stay on the West Coast to play his college football with UCLA or USC being potential prime landing spots. he did make the June trip to the Ole Miss campus, so there could be some "there" here.
