Kahuku’s Miki Ah You named Polynesian Bowl All Star

Kahuku linebacker Miki Ah You has been selected a Polynesian Bowl All Star.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound University of Washington commit suffered a season-ending knee injury three weeks ago against Saint Louis and will not be able to play in the 2019 Polynesian Bowl, but was still selected for what he has achieved on the field and his high character off of it.

Ah You was selected to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State first team as a junior — one of only two juniors to make the first team on defense.

“We can’t replace Miki, but we’ll try to carry on with the intensity he always brings,” Kahuku coach Sterling Carvalho told Hawaii Prep World’s Paul Honda earlier this week.

Ah You is one of six seniors in Hawaii this year to hold double-digit FBS offers. He chose Washington over schools including Oregon, Brigham Young, Nebraska, Ole Miss and Arizona State.

He is the third Kahuku player selected to the Polynesian Bowl, joining defensive end Tausili Fiatoa and offensive lineman Enokk Vimahi.

The 2019 Polynesian Bowl, featuring the top high school seniors in the country with the majority of Polynesian ancestry, will take place Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Aloha Stadium.

Another selection from Hawaii will be announced tonight.
