Punahou DB Alaka’i Gilman talks USC and summer visits
When we first met DB Alaka'i Gilman at the 2020 Poly Bowl media event in January, he already had an offer from USC, but his scholarship count rose to 10 since then and includes USC, Oregon, Oregon St., Cal, ASU, Nebraska, Utah St., Hawaii, Colorado St. and Princeton.
My first opportunity to see him play in person was at the Las Vegas Pylon 7v7 Tournament in late February.
With Gilman’s father employed by a major airline, he’s able to jet off the island to visit schools a bit more often than the typical Hawaii prospect.
